This extension shows you the Authority, Topicality (TTF) and DYNAMICS-WEB character (rigour, depth, originality, candour, affect, commercial drive, stance, register) of the domains and pages you visit — and contributes anonymised signals to ongoing research into the character of the web.
Plain English, nothing hidden. Everything below is on by default; you can switch any of it off here at any time. Switching something off disables the feature it powers, because the analysis cannot run without the data.
The page character is scored on your own device by a small model bundled inside this extension. The page text does not leave your computer to be scored. When you allow the visit stream, only the finished 8 number character (not your page content) is contributed back, so the next person who visits that page gets an instant result. That is the flywheel, and it is also why this is genuinely privacy first.
Everything above is free: authority, topicality, character, and a reader fit check (does this page suit a given audience) with the direction to improve it. Premium adds the cure: the specific changes and a ready rewrite of the page for that reader.
On install we issue your toolbar a private key. It signs your results and lets us rate limit fairly and, if a key is ever abused, switch it off. Premium suggestions and rewrites are watermarked to your account. We monitor for automated sampling and will throttle it.
The toolbar is designed and validated for UK English only. It may be useful for other English speaking regions, but it is built for UK English. Other languages will come in time, and we build by demand, so tell us which language or region you want next from the toolbar menu.
